The following terms and conditions apply to the use of this service. Registered users (as defined in Article 1) must read and comply with the spirit of these terms when using “IT Basics.”
Chapter 1: Definitions and Related Terms
Article 1 (Definitions)
The terms used in these terms and conditions are defined as follows:
- This Service: Refers to the “IT Basics” technical information-sharing website provided by “IT Basics.”
- Account: Refers to the “IT Basics” account required to use this service.
- Registered User: Refers to a user who has an “IT Basics” account.
- Terms: Refers to the conditions set between the service and the registered users regarding the use of the service, i.e., the “IT Basics” terms of use. Additionally, the community guidelines aim to explain the expectations for the community environment created with registered users, while the terms are intended to implement the environment defined by the community guidelines. Please refer to the community guidelines with an understanding of these terms.
- Registration Information: Refers to the information that users need to provide about themselves when applying for an account. Users should be cautious that information such as usernames and email addresses, which may be displayed when posting articles on “IT Basics,” could include personal identifiers. Therefore, it is advisable not to use information that can identify one’s real identity as a username or email.
- User Permissions: Refers to the permissions granted to registered users within this service, including the right to post articles, comment on or like other users’ articles, and other related functions.
- Published Content: Refers to the text data, images, videos, audio files, etc., published by registered users within this service, including articles, comments, and public personal profiles.
- External Services: Refers to other certified systems supported by this service, such as Twitter, Google, GitHub, etc.
Article 2 (Scope of Application and Terms Modification)
These terms apply to all legal relationships between registered users and this service. By using this service, registered users must agree to these terms.
Once a user completes the registration for the account, it is considered as agreeing to these terms.
The service may change (including additions) these terms without obtaining the user’s consent under the following circumstances:
- The changes are in the general interest of users.
- The changes do not violate the purpose for which the user registered the service, and the changes are considered reasonable based on necessity, rationality, and other related factors.
If the service modifies the terms, it will announce the changes at least one week before the revised terms take effect, via the official blog or the notification feature within “IT Basics.”
After the changes take effect, if users continue to use the service, it will be regarded as their agreement to the modified terms.
Chapter 2: Use of the Service
Article 3 (Registration for Use)
Users who wish to use this service as registered users must complete the registration process and obtain an account. Each registered user can only have one account.
Users must ensure that their registration information is up-to-date, complete, and accurate during registration and after registration. If there are any changes, the user must update the information promptly.
Article 4 (Username and Password)
Registered users are responsible for managing their username and password.
Actions performed using the username and password will be considered as actions taken by the registered user who owns the username and password.
The username and password must ensure the following:
- Not contain violent, anti-social, or sexually explicit content, and must not violate public order or morals.
- Not infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights.
- Not contain any other similar violations.
The username and password belong solely to the registered user and must not be transferred or lent to others.
If the username or password is leaked or improperly used by a third party, the registered user must immediately notify this service. This service is not responsible for any losses or damages caused by improper use of the username or password due to the user’s actions or omissions.
If the user registers using an external service ID, they must comply with the relevant terms and conditions of the external service, and this service is not responsible for this.
Article 5 (Use of Published Content)
Registered users agree to grant this service the right to use the published content free of charge, including rights to copy, modify, relicense, and other uses. This service may allow other registered users to use the published content.
This service or a third party entrusted by this service may publish user content on other websites, etc. In such cases, the service or the third party may summarize, cut, or otherwise process the content, and display the username used when publishing the content.
Registered users grant other users free access to use code, program snippets, etc., posted on this site, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
The above license does not have territorial restrictions, copyright notice obligations, or any additional conditions.
This service is not liable for any losses caused to the publisher due to the use of published content by this service, users, or third parties.
This service may save or delete published content at its discretion. If it deems there are violations or other issues, it may delete or modify the content without user consent.
Article 6 (Copyright of Published Content)
The copyright and other rights related to published content are as follows:
- The user guarantees that they have all rights (such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, etc.) or the necessary permissions to allow this service to use the content. If a dispute arises with a third party, the user shall bear the costs and responsibilities to resolve the issue without causing harm or trouble to this service.
- Users shall not exercise moral rights (such as the right of disclosure, the right to attribution, and the right to integrity) regarding the content.
- The rights reserved under Articles 21 to 28 of the Copyright Law belong to the user or third parties.
- Users grant this service a global, non-exclusive license to display, edit, copy, distribute, etc. This service may use the content to create derivative works (such as publishing, video, e-books, etc.) if deemed beneficial.
This service or third parties may display or hide the user’s name, username, and other related information.
Article 7 (Content Processing After Loss of Eligibility)
If a user loses eligibility (including termination as defined in Article 13, Section 3 and Article 14), the terms regarding content use will still apply. This service may continue to use the user’s information and published content.
Article 8 (External Services)
This service may integrate with external services, and if the user allows, the content may be posted to external services.
