Google Home, Home Mini are likely to be exclusive to Flipkart

Just yesterday, Google officially announced that it would be launching Google Home and Home Mini, a lineup of smart speakers to compete with Amazon Echo, at a launch event on April 10th. It also revealed that Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart will be the exclusive seller of the upcoming product.

Flipkart has already created a landing page for the Google Home lineup , and Google is all set to announce its speakers to the Indian masses. There’s not much information on this page other than the fact that two variants of Google Home let you listen to music and bring intelligence to the comfort of your home.

According to an official tweet from Google India, you can visit the Flipkart app ( Android , iOS ) and register to receive update notifications regarding the launch of the Google Home speaker lineup . The search giant previously sold Pixel 2 smartphones exclusively via the same platform, so this partnership comes as no surprise to us.

In preparation for this impending launch, the search giant has updated its Google Home app to now support Indian music streaming services Saavn and Gaana. Both of these services connect to apps right away, making it easy to access your content from the moment you install the speakers in your home.

Google Home will support Hindi and 10 other Indian languages ​​to compete with Amazon Alexa. The latter has already gained considerable ground on Google with the Echo Dot and the larger Echo itself, so the search giant will have to go the extra mile to attract users to its products .

As of now, there is no word on the pricing of the two smart speakers, but there are rumors that Google Home and Google Home Mini will be launched at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499 respectively .
