Huawei refreshes MateBook D for 2018 with Intel 8th generation processors and Nvidia MX150 graphics

After releasing its new MateBook lineup earlier this year, Chinese electronics giant Huawei has refreshed the MateBook D in China. The new laptop features an upgraded 8th generation Intel processor and a new graphics card from Nvidia .

The MateBook D is an all-metal laptop that weighs 1.9kg and comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display. Other than that, the new MateBook D comes with the following hardware specifications:

Huawei’s refreshed MateBook D is similar to the one launched earlier this year in all other respects, including an 83% screen-to-body ratio and 45% NTSC color gamut coverage. The screen’s maximum brightness is also rated at 350 nits, so it should be plenty bright.

As for the GPU, it’s equipped with Nvidia’s MX150 card, replacing the Nvidia 940MX GPU in the previous generation Matebook.

Three versions of the refreshed MateBook D are now available with different processors, RAM, and storage configurations, and at prices that compete with Apple’s MacBook Air and Pro device lineups.

The laptop comes bundled with a lightweight charging adapter and is equipped with ports including two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, and one HDMI port . Additionally, for audiophiles, this laptop comes with speakers developed as a collaboration between Huawei and Dolby Audio.

Other improvements in the new MateBook D include a dual-band WiFi receiver for increased range and a built-in 43.3kWh that Huawei claims provides up to 10 hours of battery life and 8.5 hours of video playback. Battery included.

MateBook D comes with Windows 10 preinstalled. All three variants are sold in China, but the company has not announced anything about sales in other regions, which is expected to be revealed at CES 2018.
