Microsoft has released a universal build of Office for Mac with support for Apple Silicon in the Beta Channel, formerly known as the Insider Fast Ring. With this release, Mac users can now run Office apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, and more on the latest Apple devices (13-inch MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini) equipped with the M1 chip. The announcement was made via Twitter by Erik Schwiebert, lead software engineer for Apple products in Microsoft’s Office Experiences group. In a follow-up tweet, Schwiebert said the executable binary is now about 50% larger than before, and the entire app is about 25% larger .
