15 Best Magisk Modules You Can Use (2018)

There was a time when rooting was considered a very difficult thing to accomplish. But with Magisk, all that has changed and the device is now systemless, meaning you can gain root access without changing the /system partition. However, Magisk is more than just a rooting tool. This is an entire framework that allows third-party developers to create custom modules for Magisk. Well, there are a lot of choices, but here are the 15 best Magisk modules you should use.

Note : I tried all of the following modules on my OnePlus 5T running OxygenOS 5.1.4 and they all worked perfectly.

1. Published framework

We’ll start with everyone’s most preferred choice: Xused Framework. Xused has been around for years and has become an essential app for many users. Xused is built around a framework on top of the Android OS that allows you to perform various Android mods and tweaks . When Magisk achieved root access without interfering with the system partition, its developer rovo89 ported the Xused framework to Magisk so that users could achieve the best features of Xused’s modules along with systemless root.

To install Xused Framework, simply download and install Material Design Xused Framework depending on your system version. Additionally, you will also need to install the Xowned app to utilize the frameworks here . You can use this app to install and manage various mods in Xused Repo . Some of them can be found here.

2.Viper4Android or AM3DZirene

Viper4Android is one of the most feature-rich and advanced music mods for Android. You can change almost every aspect of your device’s audio functionality, giving you complete control. You can customize the audio performance of your device’s speakers, Bluetooth speakers, headsets, and even docks. This app not only increases the volume of the audio on your device, but also improves bass and clarity thanks to the cool ViPER Clarity and XHiFi technologies.

The interface is very easy to use, but the amount of options at your disposal can be confusing. In that case, you can also choose AM3D Sound MOD by Zirene. It provides a simple and minimalistic interface and allows you to easily adjust your system’s audio profile.

3. YouTube Vance

Everyone loves the YouTube app, and the YouTube Vanced app makes that experience even better. Firstly, the Magisk module blocks all YouTube ADs and enables the very popular and much-awaited background playback option. It also overrides the maximum resolution option and enables picture-in-picture on Oreo devices as well. Finally, like many video players on the market, you also get swipe controls for volume and brightness. Honestly, if you use YouTube a lot, you should install the Vanced module.

4. Camera2API Enabler

Google’s Pixel devices have best-in-class camera quality on smartphones. However, it’s no secret that the main reason behind its excellent quality is not the hardware, but the camera app with Google optimizations. Both ported and modified Google Camera APKs are easy to install on your device, but they all require Camera2API to be enabled on your device . This can be done manually by editing the build.prop file, or system-less by simply installing the Magisk module. That’s very cool.

5. GPU Turbo Boost

Gaming is the biggest industry right now, and mobile gaming is a huge contributor to that. We all love playing games on our devices, and whether it’s a budget device, mid-range, or high-end flagship phone, mobile gaming is something everyone does. And with the arrival of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, the mobile gaming industry is very booming. Well, wouldn’t it be great if you could push your mobile to render game frames faster? 6. Android Pie Font

Android 9 Pie is here, but what’s really interesting are all-new fonts. Yes, that’s right. We’re talking about Product Sans. Greenify is one of the best battery saving apps. Put all apps into proper hibernation mode and enhance battery savings by minimizing or no app usage in the background. The app works on both rooted and non-rooted devices, but rooted devices have additional benefits. Similarly, there is also a Magisk variant available via the Greenify4Magisk module that allows Greenify to run as a privileged app and achieve faster hibernation performance system-less.

9. Cloudflare DNS

If privacy is a big concern for you, you’ve probably heard of Cloudflare DNS. Cloudflare recently announced consumer DNS 1.1.1.1 with a focus on privacy. It promises to prevent ISPs from tracking your web history and make websites load faster. There are many ways to switch to Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 DNS on your device, the easiest of which is the Magisk module. The Cloudflare DNS Magisk module, available in both IPv4 and IPv6 versions, lets you install privacy-focused DNS on your devices and use it system-less.

10. App Systemizer

This module is used to convert third-party installed apps into system apps via Magisk, but in a system-less manner. Some launchers are automatically converted to system apps, but this includes an AppSystemizer companion app that can be used to convert various other apps to system apps at your discretion. System apps cannot be uninstalled, they can only be disabled.

11. Android microphone fix

Often, after flashing a new ROM or firmware, you may experience a decrease in the microphone quality of your device. The reason behind this is that most of the time the build.prop file is tampered with by the developer, which causes the mentioned issue. Android Mic Fix, as the name suggests, aims to solve this problem by utilizing the “resetprop” tool, which modifies the build.prop file.

12. Tethering Enabler

Being able to share mobile data with other devices and users is a feature that everyone needs at least once. Unfortunately, some OEMs prefer to remove this feature from their devices, especially in countries like the US. Tethering Enabler is a module that helps users enable USB and WiFi tethering on their devices.

13.Cross breeder light version

CrossBreeder is a set of MODs used to modify system performance and save battery life. The original project required proper /system access, but it has now been ported to work with Magisk and works very well. You can use it to reduce latency, increase entropy levels, get more functionality out of your device, and improve mobile speed.

14. Enabling Doze for GMS Magisk module

Have you ever used a Chinese device that didn’t have any Google Apps? If so, you’ve probably noticed that the battery backup is generally much better. On Android, Google introduced the Doze feature to improve battery backup, but unfortunately, this feature doesn’t work with Google’s own Google Play services. In fact, it’s one of the most battery-hungry devices of all. Thanks to “Enable Doze for GMS Magisk Module”, you can also make Doze work with Google Play Services for better battery backup . That said, be prepared for a delay in notifications from Gmail and nearly every app that uses Play Services.

15. Google Framework

Each OEM likes to put their own spin on their devices, even if they come with stock Android. Dialer is one of the most famous apps where OEMs experiment by adding or removing features as per their preference. But if you ask me, my favorite dialer is Google’s own.
