Based on information provided by leakster Jon Prosser through his Twitter account , the Google Pixel Fold is expected to be announced at Google I/O 2023 on May 10th . Prosser added that pre-orders for the Google Pixel Fold will begin on May 10th, and pre-orders from carrier partners will begin on May 30th. The device is scheduled to be released on June 27th. Google Pixel Fold is rumored to be launched with Google Tensor G2 processor and could be priced at $1,799 (approximately Rs. 1,47,000) to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 and Oppo Find N2. .
Google’s first foldable display is expected to be powered by a Samsung display and fold like a book. You can expect high refresh rates, 1200 nits peak brightness, and more. This foldable smartphone is likely to come with three rear cameras, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and more.
Now, for those looking forward to the traditional mid-range Pixel 7a, Prosser also has some interesting news. According to his tweet, the Pixel 7a will also launch alongside the Pixel Fold on May 10th and will be available for purchase immediately. Pixel 7a is available in Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral (exclusive to Google Store purchases).
The phone is expected to be powered by Tensor G2 chipset, 64MP camera, 90Hz display, and more. According to a report by 9To5Google , the Pixel 7a is expected to be priced starting at $499 (~Rs 40,900) . That’s about $50 more than the Pixel 6a price.
Perhaps the most interesting news is that the Pixel 6a will not be discontinued by Google . It will be interesting to see how the Pixel 6a positions itself in the market after the 7a’s launch.
