One of the interesting things about CRPGs, and by extension Baldur’s Gate 3, are the companions you meet along your journey. Baldur’s Gate 3, like its predecessor, features a wide variety of exciting characters. Each companion must be explored, tracked, and rescued. You can then add companions to your party or change your party members in Baldur’s Gate 3 for a different experience. That said, in this article, let’s learn about the different companions you’ll meet in Baldur’s Gate 3.

1. Astarion
- Location : After the prologue, past the remains of the Nautiloid that crashed on the ruined island. I hear him calling for help.
- Class : Rogue
- Race : High Elf
One of the easiest companions to track down in Baldur’s Gate 3, Astarion is a high elf vampire who is attracted to drinking blood (mostly animals) , and at one point he asks you to feed him. may try to persuade the player to do so. He is found directly across from the wreckage of a crashed Nautiloid and asks the player for help. Astarion belongs to the rogue class and is good at sneak attacks. Additionally, Astarion deals significant damage with each consecutive attack. 
2. Gale
- Location : Roadside Cliff waypoint, above the remains of the Nautiloid.
- Class : Wizard
- Race : Human
Gale, a human wizard, is another companion you can add to your party after completing the prologue. It’s also easy to track him down. After crossing the remains of the Nautiloid, head up towards the roadside cliff, where a cutscene will play. Through this cutscene, we will be introduced to the characters.
Gale is a human wizard who enjoys a variety of unique spells and magic. If you want to have a party that includes magical pranks in Baldur’s Gate 3, he’s the perfect person to have as a companion.

3.Harsin
- Location : Harsin is in Wargpens, Goblin Camp. He transforms into a bear to hide from his captors.
- Class : Druid
- Race : Wood Elf
When you first arrive at the grove of ruined islands, many NPCs will mention the kind druid Harsin. As you progress through the main questline, you will be tasked with finding and rescuing him from a goblin camp. Successfully rescuing Harsin will give you a chance to add him to your party.
Harsin is a druidic wood elf who can shapeshift and use nature for adventure. If you like characters who can transform into ferocious fluffy bears or use vines to poison and trap enemies, he’s the perfect addition to your Baldur’s Gate 3 group. 
4. Jaheira
- Location : Found in Last Light In when you start the game.
- Class : Druid
- Race : half elf
One of the original companions from Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, Jaheria is a half-elf druid who will join you in Baldur’s Gate 3 if you manage to get it working. She will be released with the official release of Baldur’s Gate 3, and we should have more information about her at that point. In this section, we will update her abilities, attacks, etc. 
5. Karlach
- Location : She is found on Risen Road
- Class : Barbarian
- Race : Asmodeus tiefling
Karlach, a newcomer to Baldur’s Gate 3, is a tiefling who was previously held captive by the demon Zariel, until someone sold her to the archdemon. Other than this, there is little information about this character. Larian Studios has confirmed that she will be available as a companion in the official release.

6. Laezel
- Location : Inside the Mind Flayer Nautiloid. She joins your party as part of the prologue story quest. Later, you can rescue her and re-recruit her on the island.

- Race : Githyanki
The first companion you meet in Baldur’s Gate 3 is Lae’zel. She is a Githyanki warrior who is kidnapped by the mind flayers and freed from her captivity. Eventually, the player encounters her while running away from the Nautiloids, and she joins your party.
Rhaezel is a Githyanki fighter, powerful even by the standards of her kind. As such, she knows several combat skills that will come in handy during encounters. In addition, Rhaezel has some good points in the strength attribute, making him a great companion for the game.
7. Mintara
- Location : Inside the goblin camp. Mintara plans to attack the Druid Forest, and players can side with her.
- Class : Paladin
- Race : Drow
The companions listed above are mostly on the good side, but why not recruit someone super villain from the start? Welcome, Mintara. A drow working with goblins to defeat the island’s druid Grove. If players visit a goblin camp and interact with her, there is a chance she will find the grove and help them. And as an extension of that, you can now hire her.
Mintara belongs to the Paladin class and has access to related skills. If you want a paladin in your party, she’s the perfect companion to recruit in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, in order to do so, you will need to become quite unpleasant to the druids in the grove.
8. Minsk
- Location : unknown. It will be available at the same time as Baldur’s Gate 3 launches.
- Class : Ranger
- Race : Human
Another character who returns from previous Baldur’s Gate games and is quite popular is Minsc. Minsk is a human ranger who owns a “miniature giant space hamster” called Boo. Both were petrified and petrified at the end of Baldur’s Gate 2 and remained that way until Baldur’s Gate 3.

9.Shadow Heart

10.Will
- Location : Players can track Will during the “Eliminate the Parasite” questline.
- Class : Warlock
- Race : Human
In Baldur’s Gate 3, Will seems like an interesting character. Next to him is a charming demon hugging, who looks mean during the fight. One of the characters confirmed to be completely rewritten is Will, who players encounter at the camp gate and become involved in a fight with goblins. If you successfully defeat him, you can recruit him in Baldur’s Gate 3.
