Can you play as Venom in Spider-Man 2? Explained

Today’s focus is on one of the game’s main villains. No doubt, you have already guessed that we are talking about Venom. The big question on many people’s minds is whether or not you’ll be able to play as Venom in the game. Can you play as Venom in Spider-Man 2?

To answer your question, yes, you can play as Venom in Spider-Man 2 . However, this is only one mission that occurs at the end of the second act of the game. The mission is titled “Don’t be afraid” and takes place in Oscorp Tower.

When Peter manages to strip the symbiote’s suit, he takes it to Harry and tries to convince him to give it up. However, nearly dying from illness, Harry puts it on anyway and fully transforms into Venom. Here, you, the player, will have the opportunity to play as Venom and escape from Oscorp Tower.

After escaping from the tower, player Venom battles Kraven the Hunter against a giant boss bottle. The boss fights and sections overall are pretty great and satisfying to play. However, as mentioned above, you only get to play as Venom once in the entire game, so savor this time and make the most of it.

How to get the Venom suit in Spider-Man 2

In addition to being able to play Venom in Spider-Man 2, players will also have the opportunity to secure and wear the Venom suit as Peter Parker in the game. The game is a linear adventure, with the player following a specific path that he must take to reach the suit.

To get the Venom suit, you need to complete certain missions in Spider-Man 2 that will give you the Venom suit. This mission is called “Good Men” and is the 15th mission in the game. As you can see, the mission is around the 50% mark, so you’ll have to play for a few hours to get this suit.

In the mission, the good guys, Peter, and Harry head to Kraven’s secret base after discovering that the Hunter has kidnapped Mary Jane. The latter was trying to find Dr. Connors, aka the Lizard, a reformed criminal. As you may have read in our review, Kraven the Hunter is slowly eliminating all current and former supervillains in order to find his biggest prey. Craven thought that if he were forced to turn into a lizard, Dr. Connors would fight him.

However, before the fight begins, Peter attempts to stop Kraven, but is instead mortally wounded by Kraven’s knife. Peter succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a nearby area. However, before dying, Harry accidentally transfers Venom’s powers to Peter, who comes back to life and is fully healed. This also gives Peter the Venom suit and its incredible powers .

Once players complete the Good Men mission, they will receive the Venom suit from Spider-Man 2. Additionally, as you continue to play, you will gradually unlock Peter Parker’s best abilities, including his symbiote powers. Even if you equip Peter Parker with the perfect Peter Parker suit, you can still use the Venom suit.

Is there a way to unlock Venom early in Spider-Man 2?

Unfortunately, the only way to unlock Venom in Spider-Man is by following the section above. As such, you will not be able to access the suit or its powers until you complete the missions listed above.
