Diablo 4 PvP Explained: How Field of Hatred Works

To be honest, online live service games rely on PvP experiences as much as PvE experiences, and of course Diablo 4 comes with the former as well. However, PvP in the game is a little different from the traditional method. In most games, sparring sessions begin during exploration or at specific arena spots, but Diablo 4 incorporates it into the story in an organic way. Unfortunately, for those who enjoy PvP, it can be difficult to understand how to spar in-game. This article details how to enable and participate in PvP in Diablo 4.

How to track the Field of Hatred in Diablo 4

To participate in PvP in Diablo 4, you will need to travel to an area called Fields of Hatred, located in the southern part of the Dry Steppes. There is a town called Alzuda in this area, and there is a waypoint there. Therefore, we recommend capturing it to make your trip to this place easier. According to the game’s lore, there is a lot of anger and hatred in the region of Alzuda during Diablo 4. The reason is due to the influence of Mephisto, the main evil.

Fields of hatred can be entered in different ways on the map. Pass through the field to enter Al Zuuda. Here, NPCs will give you priority quests and introduce you to Altars of Extraction and the PvP aspect of the game.

How to conduct PvP battles in Diablo 4

To enable PvP and fight other players in Diablo 4, follow the steps below.

  • Spawn at the Alzuuda waypoint and enter the Fields of Hatred.
  • Once you’re there, press E on your keyboard and press up on the D-pad on your controller to open the quick access menu.
  • Scroll to the right section of the quick access menu and find the option called “ Mark Yourself For Blood .”
  • Placing a bloodstain on yourself will make you visible to all other players on the map. Additionally, other Bloodstain players can see you, making PvP possible in Diablo 4. You cannot kill a player without bloodstains on them. Similarly, other players without bloodstains cannot kill you.

What is the Altar of Extraction in Diablo 4?

Simply put, Altars of Extraction is one of the activities exclusive to Fields of Hatred. By defeating enemies in the Field of Hatred, you can obtain Seeds of Hatred in limited quantities. Then purify these seeds with Altars of Extraction and notify all players roaming the Fields of Hatred.

This is another way to get involved in the PvP experience, and if you want to fight other players in Diablo 4, you’ll need to make a bloodstain.

After completing the ritual, the seeds will be purified into Red Dust. This currency is exclusive to Alzuda vendors and can be exchanged at horse armor, armour, weapons, and even curiosities.

One thing to note is that if you or the player has Seeds of Hatred, they will drop those seeds when they or the player die. This is a great way to collect as many seeds of hate as possible. However, keep in mind that you need to be a good PvP player to conquer other players in this game.
