Does Starfield have multiplayer co-op? Answered!

Multiplayer support has the power to enhance the bleak single-player experience. While I can’t comment on the competitive multiplayer aspect, co-op support makes a number of titles, including the recently released Diablo 4, an exciting experience. Not only in No Man’s Sky, but in many other games as well. Therefore, many are interested in whether Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield will have multiplayer or co-op features. Is Starfield a multiplayer game?

Ever since this announcement, players have been wondering if Starfield would allow multiplayer in some way. When it comes to this new IP, Bethesda is clear about one thing. That said, Starfield is simply a single-player sci-fi RPG. That team is working exclusively on The Elder Scrolls: Online, an MMORPG set in the world of The Elder Scrolls created by Bethesda Game Studios. I’m also counting on modders to bring multiplayer co-op support to the game sooner rather than later.

In addition to that, the team has previously worked on a multiplayer project called Fallout 76. Judging by the results of Fallout 76, it seems like the team wants to create a fulfilling single-player experience in its own right. For the uninitiated, Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer RPG set in the Fallout universe. The game launched in an unfavorable state, full of bugs, engine issues, and unstable online functionality. This time around, it looks like Bethesda Game Studios isn’t going to reimagine and try another online experience.

Multiplayer is one of the things you can’t expect from this game, but you can expect to meet a bunch of Starfield friends and team up with them to explore the vast universe. Starfield launched in early access on September 1, 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S users. Otherwise, you will have to wait until September 5, 2023 to play the game.
