Like other multiplayer games around the world, many people are wondering if the latest shooter game, The Finals, will feature cross-play or cross-progression. After all, most of the popular multiplayer titles out there add this as a standard feature. And we can see that games of this nature would greatly benefit from this feature and expand their player base. So, if you have this question in mind and want to know if there is cross-play in The Finals, keep reading.

Will there be cross-play in the finals?
To answer this question, yes, The Finals has cross-play and works like most other multiplayer games. The game has been released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, so you can expect it to be easy to play with friends on those platforms. This is an optional toggle in the settings, so you can opt out of matchmaking with console players if you wish.
Additionally, The Finals lets you compete against your friends who play on consoles. We have a dedicated guide on how to invite friends to The Finals and how to do it when crossplay is turned on, but the process is simple. Make sure they’re on your friends list and crossplay is enabled.
And yes, cross-play matchmaking works similarly to multiplayer titles like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and more. You’ll be matched against a mixed pool of PC and console players to face off against. Sure, console players have some advantages over PC players (well, aim assist, etc.), but that doesn’t mean it’s grossly unfair.
Will there be cross-progression in the finals?
Another great thing about The Finals is that the game comes with cross-progression support . So if you don’t want to sit down and play a game on your PC, you can move to the couch and continue playing on your PlayStation or Xbox.
This is another welcome addition to Finals, along with cross-play.
How to enable crossplay in Finals
By default, crossplay is enabled in Finals. However, here are the steps to enable or disable the cross-play feature:
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen to open the options menu.
- Once here, click on “Settings”. Under General Settings, choose to turn cross-play on or off.
If you don’t want to be matched with console players and want to fight strictly against PC players, turn off the toggle. This limits matchmaking with console players. However, keep in mind that if you turn cross-play off, you won’t be able to play with your console friends.
So, are you only going to play The Finals with your PC friends, or are you playing with crossplay turned on? Let us know in the comments section below.
