To counter Twitter’s dominance, Mark Zuckerbeg’s Meta launched Threads, which registered millions of users within a day. Threads is a text-based conversation app that is very similar to Twitter, and accounts are set to public by default. If you want to share your content only with approved viewers, you can make your Threads account private. This way, no one can see or interact with your content unless you approve them as a follower. Therefore, to set your Threads account to private, follow the steps below.
1. Launch the Threads app and go to your profile from the bottom right corner.
2. Then tap on the menu in the top right corner.
3. Then tap on “ Privacy ” in the Settings section.
4. Next, enable the ” Private Profile ” toggle and tap “OK” on the pop-up window.
This will make your thread account private so that only your approved followers can see and interact with your content. Note that this does not affect the visibility of your Instagram account.
If you want to make your account public as before, disable the toggle and tap OK. Your account is public and anyone can see and interact with what you share. Again, this does not make your Instagram account public.
Additionally, if you want to enable dark mode on your Instagram threads, we’ve created a simple guide for you. Additionally, you can easily change your username on a thread via Instagram. Finally, if you want to protect your Threads account from malicious attackers, we highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication in Threads. Are you planning to keep your Threads account private or public? Let us know in the comments below.
