Meta launched Threads yesterday and quickly gained over 50 million users. A new Twitter alternative, Threads is deeply integrated with Instagram, allowing you to quickly join the platform using your existing account. You’ll also see a Threads badge on your Instagram profile to alert your followers that you’re on Threads. Some users have hidden their thread badges. Is there a way to unhide thread badges on Instagram? Read here to learn more.
Can I unhide my Instagram thread badge?
At this time, there is no way to unhide your Instagram thread badge . Once you hide the thread badge, you can’t re-enable it. Instagram warns that once a badge is removed from your Instagram profile, it can’t be redisplayed.
According to Meta, the Threads badge is temporary and allows you to let your followers know that you’re participating in the app Threads, Meta’s new microblogging platform. The badge also displays a numerical identifier that represents the member’s unique status.
I updated Instagram to the latest version (290.0.0.13.176) on my Android phone to see if Instagram added an option to unhide thread badges, but there doesn’t seem to be such an option. So until Meta adds an option to bring back the Threads badge on Instagram, you’ll have to be content with that.
If you would like to deactivate or delete your Threads account, please follow the linked tutorial for detailed instructions. Also, if you want to change your username in Threads, we have a short tutorial for you.
