Intel China recently held an event to announce its 14th generation desktop processors, including the Core i9-14900K. At this presentation, the company confirmed that several 14th generation desktop CPUs will be coming in the future. But people were surprised when it was confirmed that HX series laptop processors would also be coming soon. So let’s find out all the interesting details about the upcoming Intel 14th Gen HX-series CPUs.

14th Gen Raptor Lake HX Laptop and Desktop CPUs Coming Soon
As you may know, Intel 14th generation desktop CPUs are already available. However, the desktop processors will utilize the ” updated ” Raptor Lake architecture rather than the Meteor Lake architecture exclusive to new and upcoming Core Ultra processors. Intel will soon feature both Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh-based CPUs.

This confirmation from Intel China was first spotted and shared by hardware leaker @wxnod on X (formerly Twitter). In the image above, the translation tells us that ” more 65W and HX SKUs coming soon .” This confirms that Raptor Lake S processors for laptops will be launched later. Additionally, 65W refers to other 14th generation desktop CPUs in Intel China, such as non-K series, which consume 65W.
The various K series processors ( i5-14600K/i7-14700K/i9-14900K ) all have a base TDP of 125W . When it comes to the upcoming Raptor Lake HX series processors for laptops, many leaks have already been reported. The HX-series class of Intel processors is made for high-performance laptops.
This is recent regarding the Intel Core i7-14700HX and indicates that this upcoming laptop CPU will have an increased number of cores. It’s shaping up to be a major upgrade over the previous generation i7-13700HX. I’m guessing the i5 and i9 variants won’t be a huge upgrade from the last chip, but will offer a slight increase in performance and efficiency, as we’ve observed with the 14th generation desktop processors. The entire lineup of desktop CPUs was also leaked.

What do you expect from these new Intel 14th generation processors coming to laptops and desktops? So, are you planning to upgrade to a 14th generation processor? Let us know in the comments below.
