After launching the Dimensity 900 and 800U chipsets earlier this year, MediaTek today announced two new processors that will power its future mid-range 5G smartphones. The new chipsets, called Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810, offer improved performance, dual SIM 5G support, and advanced imaging features for 5G smartphones.
Introducing Dimensity 920 and 810 chipsets

Dimensions 920
Starting with the Dimensity 920, this chipset brings a significant upgrade over its 900 series predecessors. It is built using a 6nm process and features an octa-core CPU based on Cortex-A78 core running at a speed of 2.5 GHz with an integrated Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It comes with up to LPDDR5 RAM, up to UFS 3.1 storage, and support for MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 for 9% better gaming performance.
It also supports smart adaptive displays that allow mobile devices to dynamically adjust refresh rates depending on content. Dimensity 920 also offers an integrated flagship-level HDR native image signal processor that supports hardware-accelerated 4K video recording with up to 108MP sensors.

The chipset balances performance, power, and cost to deliver hardware-based 4K HDR video capture . Additionally, it supports dual 5G SIM, dual VONR, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6.
Dimensions 810
In Dimensity 810, the chipset is also built using the 6nm manufacturing node. It features an octa-core design with a Cortex-A76 core running at 2.4GHz. It also brings 120Hz display support to mid-range 5G smartphones and improves low-light imaging with advanced noise reduction. The chipset supports up to 64MP cameras.

In addition to these, Dimensity 810 also supports advanced camera features such as artistic AI color in collaboration with Arcsoft. Additionally, it comes with MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 support with an intelligent resource management system to optimize gaming performance.
In terms of availability, MediaTek has said that smartphones with Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 chipsets will be launched in the third quarter of 2021. Therefore, we can expect mobile phone manufacturers to release devices with these chipsets between October and December.
