Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Latest snapshot 23W45A has been released. By enabling experiments in the Minecraft 1.21 update, you’ll be able to experience a new and exciting structure, the Trial Chamber, for the first time. So, without wasting any more time, let’s dive in!
Creation of trial chamber revealed
Trial chambers only generate in the overworld dimension. Additionally, you will most likely find them while exploring deep slate layers . However, some parts are occasionally found within the inkstone layer. Therefore, unlike ancient cities, the generation of world court rooms is never too low.
Snapshot 23W45A trial chamber structure
The structure of the exam room varies widely. You will find both small and large rooms. Additionally, rooms in these buildings are procedurally generated, so no two trial rooms can be the same. Then there are hallways, tunnels, narrow rooms, and spacious large rooms. The structure is mainly composed of various tuff and copper blocks.
There may also be flowerpots or pots with dead bushes, and candles scattered as decorations. Stairs and ladders connect each floor. However, like in a fortress, passages can lead to dead ends.
Danger in the trial room
The trial room is fairly well-lit thanks to new copper light bulbs everywhere, so naturally hostile mobs rarely spawn. However, given that this structure was created with combat challenges in mind, expect it to be quite difficult. The main danger comes in the form of trial spawners. These are special mob spawners that adapt to the number of nearby players and summon the appropriate number of mobs. All court rooms contain three categories of mobs:
- Melee attacks (zombies, husks, slimes)
- Small melee attacks (spiders, cave spiders, baby zombies, silverfish)
- Ranged attacks (Skeletons, Outcasts, Skeletons with poison-tipped arrows)
Additionally, each chamber will only spawn the same mobs from each category. These special spawners give players a hint of the type of mob they will spawn, indicated by the surrounding blocks. Our testing shows that if you’re playing solo, you’ll typically be playing against three mobs at once. Once you defeat them, the spawner will go on a cooldown that lasts 30 minutes.
One type of Trials spawner also spawns an entirely new mob, Breeze . This is a wind-controlled mob with a special ranged attack that can knock back players and interact with certain blocks.
Finally, you will also come across traps in the form of dispensers filled with arrows, gunpowder, snowballs or water buckets. However, it can also be used against hostile mobs.
Snapshot 23W45A Trial Chamber Loot
Loot can be obtained in several different ways in the Trial Chamber. You’ll find supply crates and barrels containing items and blocks to help you navigate the building. These include things like torches, wooden blocks, and food. Reward chests offer more valuable loot, including enchanted iron armor, weapons and tools, enchanted books, and valuable materials. However, note that they are guarded by trial spawner mobs.
In addition to these, you can also break the decorated pots placed around you to obtain valuable materials such as amethyst shards, lapis lazuli, emeralds, iron ingots, copper ingots, and even a new item, the trial key . can. Special new product that is currently not used. Completing Trials Spawner challenges will also earn you valuable materials proportional to the number of players participating in the battle.
Since development is still ongoing, all features mentioned are subject to change until the final official release. That being said, that’s it.
