OnePlus 6 Battery Test: Specifications

As mentioned above, the OnePlus 6 has a slightly larger screen at 6.28 inches versus the OnePlus 5T’s 6.01-inch screen. At the same time, both are powered by the same 3300 mAh battery. Also note that both smartphones use the same Optic AMOLED panel, so there is no increase in display efficiency. What has been improved, however, is the processor. The OnePlus 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor versus the OnePlus 5T’s Snapdragon 835, and Qualcomm says it consumes 30% less power thanks to its new DynamIQ cluster technology .

OnePlus 6 battery test: real-world performance

I should make it clear that I do not believe in performing synthetic battery tests because it will never clearly reveal how a battery will perform in the real world. So we made the OnePlus 6 our daily driver and took a look at how the battery performs day-to-day. When we were testing the OnePlus 6, we had only one question in mind. Can the energy-efficient Snapdragon 845 offset the extra power needed to power a larger screen ? Well, the short answer is yes. Because I ended most of my workday with at least 40% juice left.

This is the case with moderate usage of smartphones for making calls, sending text messages, playing games, and using social media. Please note that my working hours are until 11pm, so this is a lot of patience . Even on days when I used the phone a lot by taking photos and videos and doing all the other things mentioned above, the phone lasted for 12 hours. According to my records, this is pretty good.

Also, let’s not forget the fact that OnePlus 6 also comes with Dash Charging, which is the fastest charging technology on a smartphone. The OnePlus 6 goes from 15 percent to 70 percent in just 30 minutes and fully charges in just about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This is great. Bottom line: With the OnePlus 6, I never felt the need to plug in my phone to charge. Just turn it on and it’s ready in just 30 minutes. Dash charges are a boon. Trust me, once you get a taste of that speed, you’ll be screwed for life.
