The Resident Evil series is one of the best-selling franchises in the gaming world, and its latest success story, Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil, has won praise around the world. Capcom has recorded strong sales, but fans are eagerly awaiting new games. And judging by some changes on their social media channels, that might happen soon.
Recently, Resident Evil’s official social media handles like Facebook and Twitter changed their official profile pictures/logos on their social feeds to new logos.

The logo shown above may look new at first glance, but it’s actually the same font used in the first three installments of the series. This profile picture change didn’t go unnoticed, and gamers and fans of the series around the world began to take notice of its content, which made fun of it.
A teaser for something new, but what?
Changing your social media logo or cover image signals that something new is coming. In this case, Capcom changed the image to the logo that previously existed in Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3.

Longtime fans and avid readers may remember back in 2015 that it was speculated that Capcom would release a remake of the original Resident Evil 2. Capcom has been quiet on the subject, but last year Resident Evil 2 Remake producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi confirmed that the long-awaited game would be released “soon” and would be released on PS4 and Xbox One. He tried to reassure fans by claiming that it was “expected.”
As the original game celebrates its 20th anniversary, a number of changes have been made to social media, and it looks like fan requests are finally coming to fruition. Resident Evil 2 was originally released on January 21, 1998, but if a remake of the original game is indeed coming, it would be a great idea to announce it on the game’s release anniversary.
At this point, this is all just speculation based on teasing changes by the team behind Resident Evil’s social media accounts. Although there is no official word about the release or even an announcement of a remaster, gamers are still dreaming of a remaster.
