The meta of Valorant and its agents is constantly changing. Almost every patch and update introduces new agents to the game, bringing a breath of fresh air in terms of abilities. The latest one is deadlock. Every little patch or detail can change the way your favorite agent plays, helping you secure your next heroic victory. So we’ve researched all the old and new patches to create the ultimate Valorant agent tier list for 2023 (up to patch 7.09 ). Now you can decide which character will be your main character in Valorant Episode 7 Act 3 .
Note : We updated the Agent Tier list on November 3rd with the introduction of a new Duelist, or ISO, to the character pool. This list also includes buffs and nerfs that were recently rolled out in Valorant patch 7.09.
S-tier agent
The most popular characters in any tier list are S-Tier. These characters can be powerful, fun to play with, or just plain overwhelming. There are several reasons why Valorant characters are placed in the S tier. Let’s take a look at why these agents belong to this powerful category.
1. Jet
There is no doubt that Jet has been significantly nerfed in the latest patch. But despite its limitations, Jet is still the most agile of the agents. We believe that as long as Dash exists in the Jets’ arsenal, she will remain at the top. Well, her winning percentage speaks for itself.
The main reason Jett is in S tier is because she is currently the only viable Operator career in Valorant. There is no agent that carries the operator like a jet. Another special element that Jet brings to a Valorant team is that no other agent can escape an ongoing conflict like she can, which keeps her at the top of any tier list.
2. Omen
Controllers are always an underrated agent in Valorant. However, Omen always overcomes it due to his versatility and quick agility while playing the role of controller agent. Next to Jet, Omen is the only reliable agent who can move from place to place without hesitation. This will keep him always in S tier.
Not every game is going to be good or good enough for someone to play with a controller and want to be in the rearguard. That’s why Omen can be a controller that has the abilities of a controller but offers the flexibility of a gunslinger. Trust me, I chose Omen and played as a duelist.
3. Reina
Due to Jet’s nerf, Reina’s popularity has increased significantly. In the early days of the new Jets, Reyna’s pick rate skyrocketed. That doesn’t mean she had a bad reputation as an agent. Reyna is a good choice for Valorant’s bloodthirsty sweats.
If you have crispy tap-level goals, don’t hesitate to choose Reyna. Before choosing Reyna, check out the best Valorant crosshair codes here.
4.Cypher
For a long time, we have denied Cypher’s defensive capabilities. This always infuriated the cipher mains in the comments section. Riot Games responded with the best possible changes. From the B tier at the bottom of the last Valorant agent tier list, Cypher moved up to the S tier.
If you ask how they changed the meta, the answer is Cypher changed the meta. Prior to 7.09, the game went through an attacker patch with Weapon Judge and Raze playing key roles. However, the infinite trap setup allows Cipher to say “no one will pass through.” Now, I pray for the recovery of those affected by Cipher’s new trap.
5.ISO
When Riot Games first released the gameplay trailer for the new Duelist ISO, it was clear that the developer had taken a fresh approach to the agent. It may seem premature to compare his pick rate or win rate to other duelists, but it’s fun to be an unbeatable agent on the field.
As an offensive duelist, I love fighting against enemies, and ISO’s kit helps with that. Overall, ISO is a gun duelist with offensive abilities, currently ranked in the S tier.
A-tier agent
Now that we have selected the S tier, let’s jump to the A tier of Valorant’s agent tier list. Many of these agents jump to the S-tier group, but there are some minor drawbacks that keep them in this category. A-tier Valorant agents are consistent and reliable for the current meta. Let’s take a look at them:
1. Sova
Starting our A-tier is Sova, our northern ally. Sova is your trusted first-line support agent. His abilities allow him to move forward without being put in a vulnerable position. The only thing keeping him from S-tier is how robotic it feels to play as Sova. Always the same!
2. Killjoy
Following a major nerf, Killjoy has dropped from a reliable defensive agent to an almost reliable agent. But if you have a tactical genius, a killjoy. There is one thing we can all agree on. The Killjoy lookout can be another agent , making any team a six-man army. Sentries alone can be very annoying and can make you feel like a keyboard warrior when enemies are trying to enter your site.
In addition to that, Killjoy can gather important information about the map through the placement of sentries and alarm bots. This makes her an important presence in ranked matches and at the professional level as well.
3. Phoenix
Our unusual choice is the inclusion of Phoenix in the A tier. I know, I know, but Phoenix hasn’t received many nerfs or buffs. However, other agent changes made the road easier for Phoenix. Phoenix has an impressive 48.8% win rate in this tier. Well, do not forget that he is the easiest agent among them. Be sure to shake the collar and burn your eyes with the blinds.
4. Chamber
Chamber is better than anyone when it comes to jumping from the bottom of the previous tier list. Valorant has become a very precision-dependent game, so Chambers is very good at that ability. In addition to freegan abilities and extremely good teleportation, Chambers also has a trademark.
Overall, Chamber is once again a good alternative to jets when it comes to transporting operators. You can also swap him out for a number of Sentinels depending on the situation and play him on every map in Valorant.
5. Sage
Once just a support agent, Sage has become an important agent in many maps. Well, she has less recovery herself and is back to being just a support. In a game like Valorant where so many things matter, just being a healer won’t help you. The only advantage is an amazing defensive ability that prevents enemy attacks. She never disappoints when it comes to defensive halves, whether it’s a wall or a slow orb. Sage is one of the easiest agents to master, which also contributes to her being in the A-tier.
B-tier agent
We have moved from the best agents and average agents to the so-so agent category. The B tier includes agents that are either very basic or not very fun to play. Their use case scenarios are fairly limited, and these agents cannot outperform the S-tier or A-tier Valorant agents on our list, even on a bad day.
1. Brimstone
Brimstone was definitely an A-tier candidate, but fell just short of the top of the agent list. Now you may see that Brimstone’s pick rate and win rate are constantly skyrocketing. However, he does not offer anything other than general defense controller duties. Brimstone’s passive skillset can make gameplay feel slow at times. Overall, he deserves to be in the modest category for being easy to master. 1st place in B class isn’t bad, right? You can learn how to play Brimstone in Valorant and some great tips and tricks via the linked guide.
2. Viper
Many were disappointed when Viper received one of the worst nerfs recently. This caused Viper to run out of fuel faster, dropping it from S-tier to A-tier on the Valorant agent tier list. Viper has been one of the most consistent agents in the agent pool since the beginning of the game.
While away from combat, she can also control the ability to cut her vision and focus on those lurking. Viper is so versatile that Viper-focused teams can always go for Plan C or Plan D. If you’re one of the solo queue monsters, play Viper and start lurking like a slippery reptile.
3. Astra
The worst change Valorant has made to Agents is completely nerfing Astra. What used to be an S-level agent is now so basic that its difficulty is meaningless. There are a lot of fake controllers like Harbor in the game, but Astra could still be better. So far, her slight changes have elevated her from the C tier to the B tier.
You can always use a simple controller like Brimstone and get the same results without much difficulty. Therefore, regardless of the change in playstyle, Astra earns a B tier on the Valorant agent tier list.
4.Raise
When it comes to the word “meta” in a game like Valorant, something can change with every update. Unfortunately, Reyes was the worst affected by the major changes in her abilities. Once dominating the Lobby and S tiers, Raze now barely lingers in the B tier. After Valorant Tournament of Champions 2023, PRX Jingg put on a dominant Raze display. This left Raze too exposed and ultimately led to many nerfs as a powerful duelist agent. With a damage-reduced paint shell and a blast pack, Raze is the fourth agent in the B tier.
5. Fade
When Fade debuted, everyone was very excited about how good she was at gathering information and pushing enemies back from specific locations. But everything changes when she realizes that her abilities aren’t that practical on a daily basis. Fade only has one enemy tracking ability , and that too is so huge that it can’t keep track of how many enemies there are before it’s destroyed.
Overall, Fade is a decent agent made for a specific map. However, Fade is comparable to Skye’s level thanks to her Prowler, which allows her to climb ladders and effortlessly avoid Cipher’s traps, which overwhelm her along the way.
6. Sky
The Australian from the East never disappoints with his scouting abilities in Valorant. You can always rely on Skye’s ability to gather information. However, recent nerfs have made Sky a bit stale.
With the new Skye, you can always focus on supporting your team. This will strip her of her status as a flex agent and demote her from A tier to B tier. In a solid, defensive meta, being an old initiator isn’t enough.
C-tier agent
The C tier consists of some weakened agents and some agents that don’t add anything substantial to the game. Valorant is a constant action tactical shooter, so any list will always prioritize agents that add depth to your hierarchy.
1. Neon
Tier C begins with false promises made by Valroant. When Neon debuted on the roster, the focus was on her speed and ability to keep things fast. It died down faster than the CS GO 2 hype at the time. Neon looks fun to play, but that’s because you like to play Spike Rush and only use her ultimate.
The only thing that could move Neon up the tier list is when Valroant decides to replace all abilities with ultimates. Some pro teams still choose Neon on certain maps, but he doesn’t perform as well as viable duelists like Jet or Rays. Therefore, Neon remains in the C tier.
2. Keio
When we mention Kay/o, a lot of people get mad that he’s an underrated player. Besides shutting down enemy abilities in gunfights, Kay/o can actually provide a lot of cover by turning into a corpse. If you’re thinking of playing an Initiator, choose an Initiator with better information utility and ability to advance your duelist. Kay/o is not situational and can be replaced with other initiators that are more valuable in your team composition.
3. Violation
Bleach, the god of small sites and cornered maps, is finding its place in the B tier. The reason Bleach is D-tier and above is because of his useful abilities. But they also come with self-destructive features. Most of Breach’s abilities are predictable and easy to avoid. Basically, the fact that most of his abilities require information (from Sova or Kay/o) to perform makes him secondary to other initiators.
4.Moonlight
Before Gekko joined the Valorant protocol, the game was heavily biased towards defensive wins. But Gecko and his little friends, especially the wingmen, have changed the way they approach attacks.
You can always send your wingman over and sit back and relax while he plants the ears with you. On top of that, Gekko’s passive allows him to continuously cast spells every 10 seconds, allowing him to constantly annoy his enemies. The reason he fell into the C tier despite being a very good agent is because the Valorant meta has reverted to defensively more powerful agents like Cypher and Killjoy.
D-tier agent
The D layer is also known as the “disappointment layer” in the dictionary. Valorant has tried changing the abilities and powers of these agents to make them part of the meta in the past, but to no avail last time. As such, they still rank low on the Valorant agent tier list.
1.Night
Don’t let PRX Forsakens’ VCT performance fool you into thinking that Yoru is a good agent and the one you should choose. Yor, with absolutely zero practical abilities, is a showboat. Yes, if you think it’s fun to make supersonic noises before sneaking behind enemy lines, you’re free to do so.
In addition to using almost every ability to make sounds, Yor is also an excellent boy scout . Scouting is good, but not as a duelist. Duelists should be entry flaggers, not scouts. Valorant even tried to save him with a mega-update, but ultimately made him somewhat relevant only to content creators. Yor is the first D-tier agent in this Valorant tier list.
2. Deadlock
Well, since day one, Valorant’s newest agent Deadlock hasn’t been very practical in the Valorant game. However, we chose her as an early S-tier Numerouno. The reason behind this was that there were little to no counters to players who could master her. However, in VCT 2023, the pick rate is zero and it is completely useless in top games, so it will fall to the D tier. Hey Riot, before you add another agent to your game, it might be a good idea to check the latest agents.
3. Port
Speaking of representation, India’s representation did not go well. Harbor appeared in Valorant as the Rajah , but in the end all he did was become the least chosen controller (even in the Quick Spike Rush game mode). Harbor is boring and very dependent on team fights. His abilities are first and foremost aimed at protecting his teammates. That makes him very bland and very situational on certain maps. That’s why he’s in the D tier.

There is no strongest agent in Valorant. But Jet, Omen, Reyna, and anyone else in the S tier of the Valorant agent tier list are powerful in the current patch.
According to our selection rate and win rate data, Reyna is the most selected agent at 59.9%. She is easy to play and very reliable on any map.
Unlock one of the S-tier agents from the tier list. All of them are strong and flexible in any situation. We recommend unlocking Omen and Reyna as your first agents.
