WhatsApp now has a native Windows app for everyone

Good news for those who frequently use WhatsApp on their PC. Native Windows apps are now available, making it easy to send and receive messages without any hassle. A native macOS WhatsApp app is also in the works. Here are the details:

Introducing the WhatsApp for Windows app

The new WhatsApp app for Windows has been released in beta and is now available for anyone to download from the Microsoft Store. This app is specifically designed for Windows, making it much faster and more reliable compared to the desktop version of WhatsApp . Additionally, the interface is said to be cleaner.

This eliminates the need to link your phone every time you access WhatsApp on your PC. Until now, the only options to access your WhatsApp messages were using WhatsApp Desktop or the browser-based WhatsApp Web.

Once you have downloaded the Windows app for WhatsApp, you need to link your primary WhatsApp device once by scanning the QR code. This is an option under Linked Devices in Settings. Post this, you will be able to send and receive WhatsApp messages even when your smartphone is offline . Of course, chats are encrypted end-to-end.

WhatsApp for macOS will also be released soon and is currently in development . If you’re interested, try it out as part of WhatsApp’s beta program. The public beta version of the Catalyst-based macOS WhatsApp app was released last month.

These updates are an expansion of WhatsApp’s multi-device support capabilities. This allows you to link up to four devices to one WhatsApp account without using the internet or phone.
