Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro launched with 108MP penta camera setup

Xiaomi launched the Mi CC9 lineup earlier this year to provide the youth with trendy designs and great cameras. Well, the Chinese giant has expanded this lineup today, offering not only a flagship-grade design with a curved display panel, but also a penta-camera (5-camera) setup on the back. This is the world’s first smartphone to officially feature a 108MP camera sensor .

Mi CC9 Pro: specifications and features

As always, let’s start with the design. This is the standard glass sandwich design that most mobile phone manufacturers currently use. According to Xiaomi , the edges of both the front and rear panels are curved for a “rounded and comfortable” feel. According to the teaser, the curved back panel looks very shiny and glossy.

The Mi CC9 Pro looks a lot like the Huawei P30 Pro on the front, with a dual curved screen and a waterdrop notch housing a 32MP selfie camera. The device features a 6.47-inch AMOLED display with slimmer bezels, 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution, and 398 ppi pixel density. Packed with HDR and DCI-P3 wide color gamut support.

The biggest highlight of this smartphone is probably the vertical penta camera placed on the back. It doesn’t use any software tricks like the Nokia 9 Pureview to process data from all sensors and output a single image. Xiaomi offers all possible sensors in this setup and compared this device to a DSLR with a high-megapixel camera.

The company boasts that it can charge your phone in about an hour, which even beats the Mate 30 Pro’s 40W charging. Mi CC9 Pro includes all the important connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and 3.5 mm audio jack.

It runs MIUI 11 based on Android 9 out of the box, giving you access to all new features such as dark theme, horizon light, customizable AOD, and a host of work/life-focused features.

Price and availability

The Mi CC9 Pro is priced starting at CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 28,250) for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage . However, you will have to pay 3,099 Yuan (approximately Rs. 31,250) for the 8GB + 128GB version, while the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at 3,499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 35,250) in China.

There are three color variations: Ice & Snow Aurora (white), Magical Green, and Dark Night Phantom (black).

Xiaomi is not wasting any time in introducing this amazing phone to the world. It will go on sale tomorrow, i.e. November 6th, first in Spain as Mi Note 10.
