Zotac Introduces New ZBox Magnus Mini PC with Intel 13th Gen CPU and RTX 4070 GPU

Zotac is one of the most popular hardware manufacturers in the industry. The company manufactures graphics cards and portable small form factor PCs with a variety of components. Let’s check out the new hardware updates for the Zotac Zbox Mini PC lineup and discuss what they bring in terms of performance. It’s essentially a modernized version of Zotac’s Zbox Magnus One PC, with a modern processor and graphics.

Zotac Magnus One with RTX 4070 & i7-13700 released

Zotac is updating the ZBox Magnus One with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics and a 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake processor. Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture brought many meaningful improvements, including new RT cores and optical flow accelerators. This facilitates AI-powered DLSS 3 frame generation , dramatically increasing in-game FPS.

Also, Intel’s Raptor Lake architecture is more efficient compared to 12th generation Alder Lake CPUs. The i7-13700 used here is a powerful CPU with 16 cores and 24 threads . It doesn’t clock as high as the i7-13700K/KF CPU (benchmark here), but it’s close in terms of performance.

The onboard GeForce RTX 4070 is a full-fledged desktop graphics card with 12GB of GDDR6X memory and 5888 CUDA cores . On the back, the GPU has five display outputs (HDMI and DisplayPort). As for storage, there are two M.2 (2280 long) SSD slots that support PCIe 4.0 SSDs, in addition to a 2.5-inch SATA SSD slot.

Speaking of wireless connectivity, this Zotac mini PC supports WiFi 6 with Bluetooth v5.2. There are also two Ethernet ports, one supporting 2.5GbE speeds and the other limited to standard GbE. Port selection includes 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x SD card slot (with UHS-II support), and 7x USB 3.2 connectors (one of which is a Type-C port).

Magnus One is essentially a small form factor desktop PC with a small volume of 8.3 liters . You can also seamlessly upgrade (albeit within limited space) with a better CPU (up to 65W) or a new graphics card. It has a 500W 80+ Platinum rated power supply, which is one of the highest ratings of any power supply.

Zotac is also updating its Magnus EN series Mini PCs with 13th generation Intel mobile processors. This processor has reduced specs to suit the form factor required for a laptop (in this case, a mini PC). Performance is different compared to desktop chips, but the power consumption is much lower. As a result, the Zotac Magnus is surprisingly portable at 2.65 liters .

Talking about the processor, it comes with up to an i7-13700HX . According to Zotac, this CPU has a 16 core & 24 thread configuration with a maximum turbo speed of up to 5.0 GHz . When it comes to graphics, the RTX 4070 featured here is a laptop chip with 8GB GDDR6 memory and boost clock speeds of up to 2175MHz. These specs make the Zotac Magnus EN series a monster under the hood, so the size of this mini PC may fool some people.

The RAM here is a DDR5 module and the mini PC can support up to 64GB RAM. When it comes to storage, the Magnus EN series features two M.2 slots that support PCIe 4.0 SSDs, as well as an SD card reader that supports UHS-II. You also get two 2.5GbE ports, as well as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2 support. Port selection includes 5x USB 3.0 ports and one Thunderbolt 4 port.
